Topanga Abode Referential Series

The project brief was to create an image-centric poster design using local reference. Taking it further I created a poster series based on the trappings of my backyard in Topanga California. Each composition bounces off the next, with elements that repeat themselves while others are exclusive to a single piece. Although varied in nature all echo a similar feeling of longing, containment and accumulation. Urban beautification and the tranquility of pacific outdoor living cascades all nine works depicting the Santa Monica Mountains which cocoon and enclose the scene so nothing else past this point is shown. This is to reinforce the space as a seclusive one while still keeping the picture full and abundant with surrounding nature that juxtaposes the captivity both in its preservation and allurement.
