Patterns & Icons Work Series

A collection of work showcasing patterns & icons. Some are conceptually relevant while others are simply stated with color and shape language that matches each work’s intention. For example, the nine artworks packed with a bold, yellow background are based on female silhouettes symbolic of the aesthetic and poise that is the modern woman placed on a fine line, showcased by the visual element’s verticality. Yellow is symbolic of traditionalism but also a shedding light that echos the restraints women face and the dangers that loom but also a sun that shines in wake of freedom, conveyed by the color. Overall print & pattern showcases playfulness, varying density, a sense of framing and range to be conceptual.
